The Treatment

What is Cryo T-Shock?

Cryo T-Shock is a non-invasive aesthetic device that uses a handheld applicator to deliver controlled cold, and in some protocols alternating warm and cold temperatures, to the skin’s surface.

At Zona, it is offered as a cosmetic service for clients who want to address the appearance of areas such as the under-chin, jawline, abdomen, flanks, thighs, or arms without surgery.

Common cosmetic concerns

  • Fullness under the chin
  • Stubborn areas of the abdomen, flanks, or thighs
  • The appearance of skin laxity
  • The appearance of cellulite
  • Facial puffiness or dullness

How it works

  • The applicator is guided across the treatment area while the device monitors and controls skin temperature.
  • Body protocols use sustained cooling, which the manufacturer describes as targeting fat cells; toning protocols alternate temperatures in a “thermal shock” sequence intended to support the appearance of firmer skin.
  • Facial protocols, sometimes called a Cryo facial, use cooling to help the skin look refreshed and less puffy.

Your Visit

Before, during, and after

  1. Before

A consultation reviews your goals, skin or body concerns, health history, medications, and recent treatments to confirm the service is appropriate for you.

  2. During

You relax on a treatment bed while the applicator moves over the area. Most clients describe a cold sensation; warm phases feel like gentle heat. There is no anesthesia.

  3. After

Temporary redness or tingling may occur. Most clients return to normal activity the same day. Any changes in appearance, if they occur, typically develop gradually over weeks and may require a series.

Safety

Risks, limitations, and who should wait

Your consultation reviews your health history to confirm this treatment is appropriate for you.

Possible side effects and limitations

  • Temporary redness, tingling, numbness, or sensitivity
  • Mild swelling in the treated area
  • Results vary and are not guaranteed; it is not a weight-loss treatment

May not be appropriate if you have

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Active cancer or current chemotherapy
  • Kidney disease or dialysis; poorly controlled diabetes
  • Open hernia in or near the treatment area
  • Inflamed, infected, or broken skin in the area
  • Recent injectables in the face (ask about timing after Botox or fillers)

Individual results vary. Aesthetic treatments are cosmetic and are not a substitute for medical care. No specific outcome is guaranteed, and some concerns may need a series of sessions or may be better suited to another treatment.
