Overview

What is Styku body scanning?

Styku is a 3D body scanning system. You stand on a slowly rotating platform while a sensor captures your shape and builds a 3D model, from which detailed body measurements are calculated.

How 3D body measurements work

An infrared depth sensor records the distance to hundreds of thousands of points on your body as you rotate. Software assembles those points into a 3D model and measures circumferences and other dimensions from it — similar to a tape measure, but at many locations at once.

Measurements and progress indicators

Depending on the report, a scan may provide:

  • Circumference measurements, such as waist, hips, chest, and thighs
  • A 3D model of your body shape you can compare over time
  • Estimated body composition indicators, such as an estimated body fat percentage
  • Side-by-side comparisons between scans to visualize change

Tracking change over time

Repeated scans let you compare measurements and 3D shape across weeks or months. Looking at trends across several scans is more meaningful than any single result.

Why measurements complement the scale

Scale weight changes with water, meals, and other daily factors, and it can’t show where changes are happening. Circumference measurements can reveal shifts in shape — for example, around the waist — even when the scale moves slowly.

Accuracy & limitations

A tracking tool, not a diagnosis

Body composition values from a 3D scan are estimates calculated from body shape, not a direct clinical measurement of body fat, and they are not a medical diagnosis. Results can vary between scans due to posture, clothing, hydration, and time of day. For the most consistent comparisons:

  • Scan at a similar time of day
  • Wear similar clothing each time
  • Keep hydration and recent meals similar before scans
  • Compare trends across several scans rather than any single result

Your Visit

What to expect during a scanning appointment

  1. Step 1

Wear form-fitting clothing so the scanner can capture your shape accurately.

  2. Step 2

Stand still in a relaxed, guided position while the platform slowly rotates.

  3. Step 3

The scan itself is quick and non-contact — nothing touches your body.

  4. Step 4

Review your measurements and 3D model with our team afterward.

FAQs

Body scanning questions

Does Styku measure body fat?

Styku captures body shape and measurements, and its software can estimate body composition indicators from those measurements. These are estimates, not a clinical diagnostic measurement of body fat.

Is a Styku scan a medical test?

No. A Styku scan is a wellness tool for tracking measurements. It does not diagnose any medical condition.

Does the scan use radiation?

Styku uses infrared depth sensors to capture your shape. It does not use X-rays.

How often should I scan?

Many clients scan at the start of a program and then periodically to compare. Our team can suggest a schedule that fits your goals.

Can I use Styku with the ChiroThin program?

Yes. Repeated scans can complement scale weight when tracking progress during a weight loss program.
