The Apparatus

What’s in the studio

Springs, not weights, provide resistance on Pilates apparatus — so the same piece of equipment can support you or challenge you.

  • A wooden Pilates reformer with a sliding carriage, springs, footbar, and strapsRepresentative image

    Reformer×2

A sliding carriage moves along a frame, with springs providing adjustable resistance. A footbar and straps allow you to push and pull while lying, sitting, kneeling, or standing. Having two Reformers makes duet sessions possible.

    Often used for

    • Whole-body strength
    • Core control
    • Leg and hip work
    • Duet sessions
  • A Pilates Cadillac with a raised table, overhead frame, springs, and trapezeRepresentative image

    Cadillac

Also called the Trapeze Table, the Cadillac is a raised, padded table with an overhead frame. Springs, a push-through bar, and a trapeze allow both supported and challenging exercises, making it very versatile.

    Often used for

    • Spinal mobility
    • Stretching
    • Upper and lower body strength
  • A Pilates ladder barrel with a curved padded barrel and wooden ladderRepresentative image

    Ladder Barrel

A curved, padded barrel connected to a ladder. The distance between them adjusts to your body. It supports exercises that stretch and strengthen the spine, hips, and legs.

    Often used for

    • Spinal extension and flexion
    • Side bending
    • Hip flexibility
    • Core strength

    Wunda Chair

A compact box with a spring-loaded pedal. Small in size but demanding, it challenges strength, stability, and balance through seated, standing, and kneeling exercises.

    Often used for

    • Balance
    • Leg strength
    • Shoulder stability
    • Standing control
  • A Pilates arm chair with a padded seat, backrest, and spring handlesRepresentative image

    Arm Chair

A seat with a supportive backrest and springs attached to handles. The back support helps you focus on posture and breathing while working the arms, shoulders, and upper back.
