Neuropathy & Balance Physical Therapy in Buford, GA

When you cannot feel the ground clearly under your feet, balance becomes harder. Physical therapy helps your body make the most of the other systems that keep you steady.

Understanding It

About neuropathy & balance problems

Peripheral neuropathy affects the nerves that carry sensation from the feet and legs. It is often associated with diabetes, but has other causes too. Reduced feeling in the feet can make it harder to sense where you are stepping and react when you start to lose balance.

Physical therapy cannot reverse nerve damage, but it can help improve strength, balance strategies, and walking confidence — and give you practical ways to reduce fall risk day to day.

Zona's individualized evaluation and treatment

Your evaluation assesses sensation, strength, ankle mobility, walking, and balance under different conditions to understand how neuropathy is affecting your stability.

FAQs

Questions patients often ask

Prefer to talk it through? Call 678-765-0909.

Can physical therapy cure neuropathy?

Physical therapy does not reverse nerve damage. It focuses on improving balance, strength, and walking so you can move more safely and confidently. Management of the underlying cause stays with your physician.

Why is my balance worse at night?

When sensation in the feet is reduced, the body relies more on vision for balance. In low light, that support is reduced. Your physical therapist can help with strategies and exercises for these situations.

Will exercises make my neuropathy symptoms worse?

Your program is matched to your tolerance and adjusted as needed. Tell your physical therapist about any changes in symptoms so the plan can be modified.

Do I need a referral?

Referral and insurance requirements vary by plan. Call our team and we can help you understand what is needed before your first visit.
